Indian Air has Donated, It Would be Great if you Could Too!

Dear Business Owner,

Shaw Butte Elementary School has made a commitment to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) School & Youth Programs by participating in our Pennies for Patients^® or Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies^® campaign. This is the seventh year the Pennies Program has taken place in Arizona, Utah and Southern Nevada, and we are gratified by the participation and enthusiasm of teachers and students who are helping fund lifesaving cancer research.  This is the third year that Shaw Butte has participated.

Pennies for Patients and Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies teach students, K-12, about goal setting, teamwork and the importance of helping others.  Students collect funds from friends and family in honor of local student survivors and/or current patients. In addition, many schools implement learning activities, kickoff assemblies and/or classroom competitions.

School & Youth Programs also offer an opportunity for communityinvolvement. Each school is encouraged to contact local businesses to ask for help in various ways. If you receive this letter, please consider joining the fight against blood cancer by supporting local students in their fundraising efforts.

 Shaw Butte is hosting their Pennies for Patients coin drive February 14, 2011 through March 11, 2011.  We would love for you to join us in this drive as a community member.  We have paper pennies that we could give you to help promote this to your customers.  Your customers can then donate money, write their name on the paper penny, and you could display them.  Then, at the end of the drive, just give Shaw Butte a check made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  We would love to join together with you to make a difference! 

If you would like to make a personal donation, you may also send cash or a check, made payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. You may also make an online donation with a debit or credit card at www.schoolandyouth.org/dm click on “Donate to a School” then choose “general donation here” and in the “Designate Your Donation” section, be sure to indicate the school name (Shaw Butte) and city where located (Phoenix)  to ensure your donation is credited to your local school.  You will then instantly be emailed a tax deduction receipt.
