Most heat pumps produce air that is warm (around 80°). This is normal. Heat pumps are designed to heat the whole house evenly. Since your body temperature is above 90°, when you touch the air coming out of your registers, it may not feel hot or warm, and may even feel cool. This is just because of the difference in the temperature of your hand and the air. Heat pumps do not instantly heat up your house. Instead, the temperature gradually rises. This helps you to stay comfortable for longer. This gradual heating process is also why your unit may seem to run for longer periods of time than you expect.
