Are your drain lines ready for the Monsoon season?

With the Monsoon season creeping up on us, it is important that we are prepared for it and the humidity it brings. When is the last time you had your a/c drain lines cleared out?

Air conditioning units pull humidity (a.k.a. water) out of the air to make your home more comfortable. That water needs to escape. That water runs down the coil and into the condensation pan. From there it flows to the condensation drain and then eventually out of your house via the drain lines.

If that condensation drain or lines become plugged up with dirt and debris, then the water can not escape the desired way and can overflow the drain pan and begin leaking. A water leak in your ceiling, drywall, or floors can be very costly! Not only do you then need to pay to fix the problem, but it is common that you would then also have to pay for fixing the wall, ceiling, or floor, paint, temporary lodging, etc. As you can see, extreme damage to your home can be done!

A water leak can happen at any time, but is particularly common during the Monsoon season. Having your drain lines cleared is a quick maintenance that can be done to help you avoid the heartache of having a water leak.
